  • Appointment strengthens LTR Pharma’s capabilities across digital health, telehealth, strategic partnerships and commercial growth
  • Initial focus on telehealth platforms, clinic networks and commercial partners, along with patient-access pathways for SPONTAN and KYZATREX in Australia

Special Report: LTR Pharma has brought Shark Tank Australia investor and entrepreneur Nick Bell on board as strategic adviser, tapping his experience in building businesses to support the commercial expansion of its men’s health portfolio.

Bell will work with the LTR Pharma (ASX:LTP) leadership team to identify opportunities across its men’s health franchise, with an initial focus on introductions to telehealth platforms, clinic networks and commercial partners.

He will also advise on digital health and patient engagement strategies, while supporting the evaluation of scalable and compliant pathways to market for intranasal erectile dysfunction treatment SPONTAN and oral testosterone therapy KYZATREX in Australia.

LTP announced in September it was expanding its Australian men’s health portfolio after signing an exclusive pilot commercialisation agreement with US pharmaceutical company Marius Pharmaceuticals for KYZATREX.

The testosterone undecanoate oral capsules are US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved and commercially available in the US.

As at October 20 more than 2000 bottles of SPONTAN have been dispensed under the Therapeutic Goods Administration’s (TGA) Special Access Scheme (SAS) and Authorised Prescriber pathways.

LTP said the numbers showed growing adoption among Australian clinicians treating men whose needs had not been adequately met by existing therapies including oral PDE5 therapies and injections.

The SAS allows a clinician to prescribe a medicine that is not yet registered in Australia for an individual patient, on a case-by-case basis, where registered treatments are unsuitable, ineffective or unavailable.

‘Track record of building and scaling businesses’

Bell founded digital marketing business WME, which was acquired by Melbourne IT in 2017, and has since developed a portfolio spanning digital marketing, technology, healthcare and consumer services, including First Page.

His commercial interests also extend to digital health, telehealth, medical imaging and longevity.

LTR Pharma executive chairman Lee Rodne welcomes the appointment of Bell as it expands its men’s health portfolio.

“Nick brings an exceptional track record of building and scaling businesses, particularly through digital channels,” he said.

“His entrepreneurial experience, commercial relationships and understanding of emerging healthcare markets make him a valuable addition to LTR Pharma.

“As we expand our men’s-health portfolio, Nick will help us identify strategic partnerships, strengthen our digital-health strategy and evaluate compliant opportunities to connect eligible patients with appropriately qualified healthcare providers and treatment pathways.”

Potential in digital innovation and men’s health

Bell said he was looking forward to working with LTP to grow its men’s health portfolio.

“I’ve spent my career building and scaling businesses by identifying opportunities where technology, customer experience and commercial execution can make a real difference,” he said.

“Men’s health is an area where digital innovation has the potential to significantly improve how patients connect with healthcare providers and access appropriate treatment.

“I’m excited to work with Lee and the LTR Pharma team to develop strategic partnerships, expand digital-health opportunities and help build scalable commercial pathways for the company’s growing men’s-health portfolio.”
